Dimensions in Stone Four Seasons Obelisk is sure to add unique character to any home and garden. Crafted by renowned sculptor Michael Kraus, this broad offering represents over 30 years of artistic expertise.

About the Artist:
Michael Kraus received his degree in Fine Art from Edinboro University of PA. in 1976. After graduation he spent time as a painter, printmaker, and gallery rep. It was during the earlty 1980's that his efforts turned entirely to sculpting, incorporating two of his major influences; Historic Architecture and American Folk Art.

All of Michael Kraus' sculptures are created by hand, using a varied collection of antique and modern tools that he has collected and researched over the years. Upon examination, his carvings exhibit traces of chisel work that are intentionally left as part of the overall aesthetic of the piece. He acknowledges that his best teachers have been antique and museum pieces, which when carefully studies, reveal secrets of the craftsmen who fashioned them. He uses these lessons learned along with his own creativity to produce exciting and unique sculptures.
